WHO WE ARE

The Microsource division of Giga-tronics was founded in 1982 to supply innovative, microwave components to the defense and test & measurement industries. Initially, these components used YIGs or Yttrium Iron Garnet crystal technology. Today, Microsource utilize many other technologies, as well as YIGs in order to meet the demanding requirements of modern microwave components. Our parent company, Giga-tronics has been designing and manufacturing microwave instrumentation and switching solutions for over 35 years. By utilizing the Giga-tronics’ expertise in these different divisions, we are able to provide optimal solutions to unique microwave challenges.

DESIGN CAPABILITIES

Giga-tronics Microsource has built a strong technical team that represents some of the industry’s best capabilities in design, technology, integration, and applications engineering, and provided them with the tools that allow analysis, synthesis, prototyping, and production transfer to be accomplished in an efficient manner. We are very experienced in tailoring an existing design or creating a new one to meet your requirements. We offer with once standard and later modified to support custom applications for both commercial and military applications.

MANUFACTURING CAPABILITIES

All Giga-tronics Microsource designs are manufactured, screened, tested, assembly in San Ramon facility with currently certified to AS9100 and been approved for DSS secret testing. Qualification / Environmental test include in-house humidity, sine and random vibration, thermal and mechanical shock and many of the standard EMI tests. Product Assurance operates in conformance to MIK-Q-9858A, and is specifically tasked with reliability engineering, quality engineering, configuration management, document control, inspection, metrology and total quality control.

INTEGRATED ASSEMBLIES

Microsource offers a wide range of YIG Tuned Oscillators and Filters, Microwave Synthesizers and collateral MIC amplifier, multiplier, switch, mixer and modulator designs. In addition, the ultra-linear performance of Microsource YIG oscillators and filter designs, and proprietary magnetic allows the company to build an integrated assemblies that allows the entire down-conversion to be achieved in a compact, economical package with full mil spec performance. Plus, the Microsource Advanced Fast Tuned Band Reject Filters Technology is the most advanced assemblies used in today’s Radar Systems.

Qualification / Environmental Test

Capabilities include in-house humidity, sine and random vibration, thermal and mechanical shock and many of the standard EMI tests. Certified outside labs are contracted to perform salt spray, temp/altitude, rain, sand and dust, explosion and select EMI tests.
